Council Finances

Burnham on Crouch Town Council raises its funds by means of the parish precept which is set annually by Burnham on Crouch Town Council.

Once the precept is set it is collected with the Council Tax by Maldon District Council and then transferred to Burnham on Crouch Town Council.

Each year the Town Council agrees an allocation of funding for known items requiring expenditure whilst leaving a smaller allocation for expenditure that arises during the financial year.

Expenditure items usually appear on both agendas and minutes of Burnham on Crouch Town Council meetings.

All Town Councils are required annually to carry out a financial audit and make public some documents concerning this audit.

Details are available on request at the Council Offices.

Official Documents related to finance are displayed on the Official Notices page .
